The Gewirette was produced in several different versions and was also sold as the Reporter. It is a simple miniature roll-film camera similar to the Nagel Ranca. A knob on the top of the camera above the feed spool turns to free the top-plate which is removed to load the film.

Early versions were not fitted with an accessory shoe and had the view-finder in the centre of the top plate.
