This camera has the name Vaido stamped into the leather, however there are some differences between this example and Vaidos illustrated in advertisements. This is probably an early model Vaido or possibly a one-off made for a client. When first announced (BJA 1909) the Vaido was to be called the Omnia.
The front standard of this example is wood and similar in shape to a Una. Illustrations show a metal standard.
The rising front is operated by a circular disc. This is as shown in the Omnia advertisements. In later Vaido advertisements a star shaped wheel is shown and mentioned in the text.
The revolving back has no lock and is not the Minex pattern. Vaido advertisements show a lock and mention that it is a Minex revolving back.
The dimensions differ to both the Vaido and Omnia.
